ACPE and Sports Camps Australia form unique partnership

by frank-stuart

Renowned sport, dance and physical education tertiary institution ACPE today announced a new partnership with Sports Camps Australia designed to open up a new world of future career opportunities for the company’s next generation of students.

One of the joint initiatives includes an exclusive chance for a small group of students to be selected for the ultimate work experience journey, travelling to Phuket in an all-expenses-paid trip to support Sports Camps Australia as they manage each of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) Games. The games occur four times a year.

“We’re thrilled to be the sole education provider working in partnership with Sports Camps Australia. Our relationship will give our students a money-can’t-buy experience with the chance to network with professionals in the industry, gain exposure to the inner workings of leading sporting events like FOBISIA and international access to leading coaches in the sports and fitness industry,” said the Head of ACPE Debbie Le Roux.

“We know the Asian market is hungry for Australian sports coaches and expertise, so giving our students such a career edge is extremely exciting for us. These are experiences that could easily alter the direction of their lives.”

Sports Camps Australia has also launched an internship program with ACPE, offering select students the chance to work at its Australian headquarters and on the ground at the company’s sports camps. This program is intended to arm the students with valuable business and events management experience.

Sports Camps Australia will also offer ACPE students the chance to become Camp Directors in their own right, giving students valuable experience which they can leverage when launching their own coaching businesses in the future. Another highlight of the partnership will see ACPE and SCA launch Certification courses in South East Asia in 2018.

CEO Sports Camps Australia Mark Wilton said through working with ACPE it quickly became clear the team was the right educational provider with which to partner.

“We’re delighted to be working with a like-minded organisation which shares our commitment to shape a lifelong enjoyment of sport in Australia through high quality education. We’re thrilled to be aligned with ACPE and to explore new ways to help each other grow,” Mark said.

ACPE students working at the FOBISIA Games, also known as ‘the Olympics for school student athletes’, will work across multiple functions, helping with everything from the medal ceremony to checking equipment and meeting and greeting athletes.

Over the course of the FOBISIA Games, ACPE will have the chance to market its courses directly to international students and run a three-day professional development program for attending coaches. The partnership will also give ACPE the chance to promote itself to Sports Camps Australia’s client base through its school holiday sports camps.
